Mauthausen, an unfathomably large concentration camp in Nazi Germany,  operated between August 1938 to May 1945, up until the camp was liberated by the Allies. In total, over 190,000 people were imprisoned in the Mauthausen concentration camp (or one of its many subcamps) over a seven-year period, and over 90,000 of them lost their lives there.

Schedule:
First, we will watch an introduction video, followed by a guided tour of the complex, learning important historical facts that should never be forgotten.
After the tour, we will visit a traditional cider taverna & should return to Linz at approximately 6.30 PM.   

Meeting Point: 12 o´clock at the Kepler Hall (Johannes Kepler University, Altenberger Straße 69, 4040 Linz)

Departure: 12:15 o´clock at the Kepler Hall

Return: approx. around 6:30 pm at the Kepler Hall

 

Please sign up by no later than May 3!

Participants only pay a contribution of  for the entire day (including bus transfers, tickets, and snacks). The fee will be collected in cash on the day of the excursion. 
As this excursion requires a good deal of advanced planning and organization, if you have signed up and must cancel, you must inform us by no later than May 3!
